Freedom/ Justice/ Poem

Freedom/ Justice

In Martin Luther King Jr Speech ’’I Have A dream’’ there was one quote that caught my attention. That quote is……

"No, no, we are not satisfied and will not be satisfied until justice rolls down like waters and righteousness like the mighty stream."

This quote is important because in that quote it explain about the 3 things he want for the African Americas. They are freedom, justice, and civil rights. The world’s ‘’waters and righteousness like the mighty stream’’ means that Martin Luther King wants everything he say to his people to be fast like the wind and to white people treat them with respect.
When I heard this quote I picture a big stream in a rainy day. Also I picture that I was there because the way he talk and express his self and it really show that he can change all this. On this quote people cheered and go wild when he spoke this because they all
Cheer for two reason: FREEDOM, AND TO HAVE THE SAME REASONS LIKE THE WHITE

PEOPLE.

This is Langston Hughes poem.

A DREAM DEFERRED

A Dream Deferred
by Langston Hughes
What happens to a dream deferred?
Does it dry up like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore-- And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over-- like a syrupy sweet?
Maybe it just sags like a heavy load.
Or does it explode?

My poem is about the poem ‘’ A DREAM DEFERRED ’’,

Fly Away

Does it fly way
Like a leaf in the fall?
Or faster like the wind?
And then stop?
Does it rotten like a rose?
Or stink like a bee?
Maybe it carry’s away
When love pass away
Or does it cry like a waterfall
.

To begin with Miss Diaz ask us to tell our parents about ‘’There American Dream?’’ I ask my parent’s an my mom response with 4 ‘’American Dreams’’ one is to have a good job, the second is that she wants a good education for me and my sis’s cuz she wants us to be someone in the future and not to be like them working on payless jobs. The third is to stay safe and not to get into trouble. The fourth is to win the lottery so she could buy a house to my grandma and so she quit working.

My dad also response with 3 ’’American Dreams’’ one is to raise the family the best way he can and make sure us his kids have everything they need until we are grown and have jobs of their own. As for him he will have retirement to enjoy what he really wants in life.
The second is to have civil rights and the third is to have freedom cuz everything that is happening is not cool, the immigration, deportation and the war, also there’s to much violence.

Should undocumented immigrants be allowed to stay in America?

Few things lately have gotten me more annoyed, or more accurately, disgusted, than to hear the president continually bleating about undocumented immigrants: They didn't respect our sovereignty. They didn’t follow our laws. We can't reward people who broke the law.

well I'm a Mexican and from my point of view all this Immigrants should be able to become citizens in the place they live. Immigrants all came here for a reason. They come here for a better life and to make money to care for their families and for themselves. immigrants should be allowed in the United States as citizens and should not be treated differently. What I think should be done about this issue is that the immigrants that are already here should be counted as citizens.

Therefore, if the immigrants are to be sent back to their homeland then that would affect the economy very greatly, the U.S will have the biggest impact to the economy. One of our nation's most recognizable monuments, the Statue of Liberty, is rendered worthless if we turn these wayward individuals away from the opportunity to realize their own small American dreams . Mexicans avoid it and they don’t care, the only thing they care is to have papers and money for there family.
